Stupid crooks

December 9th, 2009

Some times, you are surprised how stupid crooks are.  When you lie, you must be reasonably confident that you will not be caught, otherwise it is better to tell the truth.

.uk domain name deletion

November 21st, 2009

In at least 2 cases,  .uk domain names have been deleted from a customer account . In the both the cases, the domain names were apparently deleted from the registry by mistake, so  Nominet had to delete the domain names from my account and reregister the names again in favour of the original registrant.  This usually happened with a month or two of the domain name being registered.    The amount was refunded to the customer account only after a week or longer.

Freedom of speech

November 21st, 2009

Offline , promises  are usually kept .  Online,  many companies get away cheating their customers.  By exposing their misdeeds, you can help other individuals so that they will not be robbed in a similar manner.

Cybercriminals

November 20th, 2009

In countries where cyberlaw implementation is lax , cybercriminals and hackers flourish.

They are available for hire by a large army of corporates with questionable ethics.

An offline example

November 20th, 2009

A robber  goes to a shop.

He asks  the price of a book

The shopkeeper says  $10  if you pay by cash in dollars

The robber takes out a gun and takes the book away from the shopkeeper

Before leaving the shop gives a cheque of  5 GBP  and says ,  ” I have made the payment” .

Will the shopkeeper not feel that he has been robbed?

Replace book= domain

Robber = domain thief

Online double standards

November 20th, 2009

Offline, most companies abide by agreed terms and conditions.

Large internet companies hire stalkers,  hackers to spy on other individuals , intercept their emails and other illegal activities.

.UK domain registration

November 17th, 2009

For registering a .uk domain name, you first have to pay your registrar and then the domain name is registered, usually after a few hours.

Unfortunately, registrars  can also steal your domain name without  you receiving the agreed compensation.

No validation mail from Bukisa

November 15th, 2009

I  wanted to test Bukisa to see how it worked. I signed up, but I did not receive a validation email.  I tried with another email id, but did not receive any email from the new email id too.
