    Everlane Jeans & Tee Sale

Starting today, Everlane has has an anti-inflation sale, which includes some of my staple items from their line. I’ve noticed that Everlane prices have continued to increase over the last couple of years, so that many of the basics I have shared and linked to over the years are now quite a bit more expensive. In today’s sale, you’ll get OG prices on denim and tees. These are closet essentials that are well-made and form the foundation of my wardrobe for multiple seasons. If you have a gap in your wardrobe, it’s worth ordering some new denim and tees for fall at a lower price. (The sale ends at midnight…

    A Week of Summer Outfits

Happy August! It’s been a whirlwind of school supply shopping, soaking in the last free days of summer, and prepping our house for the kickoff of fall sports. Being back in a routine sounds really good after a very laidback and fun summer break spent with family and friends. As far as outfits go, summer is still my most challenging season to dress for, but I wanted to share a few reliable outfits that I have reached for multiple times. Comfort is always my top priority, especially with my kids and in hot, humid Midwest weather. You can also see outfit posts and favorite finds on my LTK page HERE.…

5 Ways to Make Your Closet More “You”

Recently, I’ve been doing a little spring cleaning and decluttering as we change seasons, and I realized there are a few subtle shifts I’ve made in my closet to make it feel more “me.” Clothes are one way we can choose to express ourselves and that can be really fun and freeing. However, I think we have all had days when we ended up wearing an outfit that just felt off. While going about the day, the discomfort of wearing something that didn’t fit or feel good can be draining. I know I have tried out more than a few trends that ended up wearing me – instead of the…

    Winter Wardrobe | Snow Boots

A few months ago, I spent a decent chunk of time researching a wardrobe addition that not only needed to have form, but also function – a new pair of snow boots. In today’s post I wanted to share the pair of boots I ended up ordering (and loving) and how I narrowed down to the right pair for me. Having used these boots during a ski trip and while shoveling and walking our neighborhood in a recent winter storm, I can reliably tell you that these are great boots. To start, I should admit that a year ago, I ordered the wrong pair of boots. They were waterproof but…

    Closet Hero: Ankle Boots

Winter is near, and nature is beginning to settle in and quiet for the approaching cold. Living in the Midwest with four distinct seasons and the temperature swings that go along with it, I’ve learned the importance of choosing clothes wisely. It’s not enough to just be the right look, the function and materials have to make sense as well. Spend one winter wearing cheap imitation leather boots, feeling the cold breeze right through and the slush seep through the seams, and you’ll quickly switch to finding the best quality winter gear within your budget. With winter’s arrival, I find myself wearing a very cozy uniform most days. A sweater…

How to Make the Switch to Fewer, Better Things

Our consumer culture gives us endless messaging that we should want more stuff. For most people, this mindset has become second-nature and we live in a time when it has never been easier to purchase things. As a minimalist who has been through the cycles of purchasing and purging, I wanted to share some tips about how to become a more mindful consumer. I’ve learned over time to make the switch towards living with less and only invest in quality items when I do make a purchase. Donate, donate, donate. My first tip is to lean into the word “fewer.” This starts at home, by removing anything that isn’t functional…

    Ten Neutral Summer Basics

Last weekend, I listened to a Tedx talk called the Ten-Item Wardrobe about an American college student spending a semester in Paris. During her months abroad, she realized French women own a very streamlined, small closet of quality basics. They repeat their outfits often and rely on a consistent uniform. I’d highly recommend listening to her story and how it changed her own view of style. It was a source of inspiration as I’ve been slowly decluttering in my own home this month. Less is more! I started editing my own wardrobe to remove outliers I don’t really wear and quickly realized that during the summer months when layering isn’t…
